Mr. A. Minor - Founder & Executive Program Director

Mr. A. Minor is a special educator based in the Washington D.C. area from the southside of Chicago.  He received his bachelor's degree from St. John's University, where he majored in Asian Studies, Public Relations, and Event Management. He then earned his Master’s in Special Education from Howard University. Although he was always passionate about history, culture, and the multitude of ways in which they are communicated throughout the world, he did not know that he would be provided an opportunity to change the lives of others in a more impactful way.

Starting in Brooklyn, NYC, Mr. A. Minor worked as an Executive Assistant to school leadership and advisor to students from East New York, Bushwick, Brownsville, and Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn neighborhoods. That’s where he knew there was a need, and saw a higher purpose in this service.

Moving to the DMV area, only amplified a need for black male voices in the field of education, primarily in Secondary Special Education. Servicing students with disabilities within DC's Ward 7 and 8, he found that there is more to a student than academics, but also the whole student, their socio-emotional growth, and their transitional and post-secondary success. Becoming an advocate for the policies and laws affecting the curriculum needs of students, those who aspire to achieve more than they ever dreamed, and more!
